NORAD Registration is Now Open!

The NORAD Hockey League has officially opened registration for the 2023/2024 season! Please head over to www.noradhockey.com/registration

This year NORAD will be joining the Colorado Springs Adult Hockey Leagues (CSAHL). This will not change any of our on-ice activities for the league (we will continue to play our own teams and there will not be any crossover play), but it will allow the league to support monthly payments. We will still be playing at Ed Robson Arena on Sunday nights as well.

The draft is scheduled for Sunday, August 6th, with the Pre-Season Party scheduled for Saturday, August 12th, and a season start date of Sunday, August 13th.

Remember you must have a current season (2023/2024) USA Hockey number and filling out the registration does not guarantee entry into the NORAD Hockey League (this is a draft league).

Good luck and we’ll see you on the ice!

The Championship Game is Set!

Thursday night brought us one of the most exciting games of the 2022/2023 season…

Triple J’s journey as the #5 seed, started with a victory over AMOS, 4-2. That was followed up by a brutal 9-0 defeat at the hands of HollowBrook Dental. Once Triple J was sent to the losers bracket they had to battle Nelson & Co. (5-1) and Platinum Group (3-1) just for the opportunity to play World Orphans. The #2 seed World Orphans started the post-season on a roll as they took down Nelson & Co. (8-1) and then Platinum Group (5-3) before suffering their first loss of the post-season to HollowBrook Dental, 6-1. This set the stage for the Triple J/World Orphans matchup to decide who earned a rematch with HollowBrook Dental in the championship game.

In the first period, Triple J’s Nick Ciampoli poked a goal past goaltender Andrew Marshall to give Triple J the early lead. The second period was a different story as World Orphans put three pucks behind goaltender Michael Gipson, one by Marc Smith and two by Austin Webb, to take a 3-1 lead into the third period. In the third period, Triple J battled back and scored two goals of their own, one from Brian Myers and one from Jon Schuepbach, to even things up. This gave us the first overtime game of the post-season. Just a few minutes into the overtime period, Bob Colby found himself all alone in front of the net and scored the game winner to send Triple J back to the Championship to defend their title.

The Championship game is set, #5 Triple J vs #1 HollowBrook Dental. We will (hopefully) see everyone on Sunday at 5:00pm for beverages, pizza, and the hoisting of the cup!

Three Teams Still Standing in the NORAD Playoffs

Thursday night brought us one step closer to the NORAD Championship, as one more team was eliminated. In the first game of the night, #1 HollowBrook Dental took down #2 World Orphans, 6-1. HollowBrook’s balanced attack saw six different players score. World Orphans suffered their first loss of the post season, which means they are still alive to win the Championship. In the second game of the night, #5 Triple J upset #3 Platinum Group in a 3-1 nail biter. Triple J was holding onto a one goal lead when a penalty was called in the closing minutes of the game. Platinum Group then went to work with a six on four powerplay before giving up an empty net goal to seal the game.

Triple J and World Orphans play on Thursday night to determine who will join HollowBrook Dental in the championship game on Sunday at 5:00pm. At the championship game, there will be pizza and beverages as the NORAD Hockey League hosts our End of Season Party in the Chapman Room at Ed Robson Arena. For anyone who has not seen the emails, please RSVP to the event if you plan on joining us, so we have an idea of what our numbers will look like.
