The NORAD Hockey League got back to playing games after the short holiday break and this week had a split of close games and not so close games. The first two games of the evening had an average goal differential of 5.5, while the last two games were decided by an average of 1.5. HollowBrook Dental continued to show why they are the team to beat as Ty Smith and Josh Theken (2 goals and 2 assists each) led HollowBrook to a 9-4 victory over Platinum. OfficeScapes got back into the win column after a three game losing streak, beating World Orphans 8-2. Gage Gagne had a hand in every OfficeScapes goal scoring 4 and assisting on the other 4. In the third game, Canada Colorado and Triple J went down to the wire as Triple J pulled off the 4-3 win behind a hat trick from Sam Downs. To end the night, Chris Durham scored a hat trick to lead AMOS to a 5-3 victory over Nelson & Company.

Happy Thanksgiving!
We have reached the halfway point of the 2022/2023 season. It’s a little weird not having a game this week, but I hope everyone has had a Happy Holiday with friends and family. We start things back up on December 4th, so we’ll see you in a week. Thank you all for being a part of the NORAD Hockey League!
-The Commissioner
ASSISTANT COMMISSIONER OUT INDEFINITELY
Canada Colorado will be losing the on-ice presence of their Captain, and league Assistant Commissioner, Serena Palmer for the remainder of the season. SERENA IS PREGNANT! Canada Colorado will be adding Free Agent Tony Wheeler to take Serena’s roster spot. In four games, as a sub, Wheeler has two assists.
CONGRATULATIONS SERENA!
Night of Firsts!
Platinum Group’s Thane Gilmore recorded his 1st shut of his NORAD Career, way to go Thane! We also had 2 game ejections! At the almost, halfway mark of the season, things are getting heated. Please remember that this is for fun and we all have to work tomorrow.
Office Scapes fell to AMOS 6-3. Triple J fell to Hollowbrook 13-6. Nelson fell to World Orphans 7-2. Canada Colorado fell to Platinum 6-0.
Free Agent Alice Burley Joins Triple J
Due to an offseason back injury to defenseman Jason Judge, Alice Burley has joined Triple J. Judge was originally expected to miss 4-6 weeks with the back injury, but due to some setbacks he will be out indefinitely. Burley played last season for AMOS racking up 31 points (6 goals and 26 assists) in 17 games. She has one assist in her first two games (one as a sub and one on the roster) with Triple J this season.
Rough Night!
Several teams on Sunday had a long, rough night. Canada Colorado had their starting goaltender back after a 5 week hiatus from injury, but fell 12-2 to Hollowbrook. AMOS fell to the World Orphans 8-1. Platinum fell 8-4 to Triple J, and Nelson fell 11-6 to Office Scapes.
AMOS Adds Free Agent Goalie Ian Ward
AMOS added free Agent Ian Ward to their roster last week after starting goalie Joseph Glowacki was ruled out for the remainder of the season with a head injury. Ward played seven games last year as a sub and ended with a 3.71 GAA. His first game as AMOS’s starting goalie did not go their way as AMOS fell to Platinum Group, 6-4.
The Most Competitive Week Yet?
Week eight brought us a competitive slate of games with the largest differential coming from AMOS’s 8-4 win over Canada Colorado. In that game, Free Agent Gavin Gray led all scorers with three goals, while subbing for AMOS. Platinum Group beat OfficeScapes 5-2 behind Tyler Kettner’s two goals and Thane Gilmore’s excellent play between the pipes. World Orphans came back from an early two goal deficit to beat Triple J 8-6. Ross Thompson scored four times to lead the World Orphans. HollowBrook Dental started very slow in their game against Nelson & Co. going down 6-0 before coming back to lose by only two, 9-7. Ruben Rumbaut led Nelson with his four goal performance.

Week 7 started with a 6-6 tie between Platinum Group and World Orphans. Four different players scored two goals each in this game…Parmiter and Thompson from World Orphans, as well as, (Andrew) McIlhany and Fritz from Platinum. Crazy Night!!!
High Scoring Games, Equipment Malfunctions, and Our 1st tie.
Nelson & Company and The World Orphans gave us our 1st tie of the season in a 4-4 showdown. Triple J took a beating 12-1, after missing their starting goalie Jeff Schmidt for the 2nd week in a row. Canada Colorado’s goalie experienced a major equipment malfunction and had to leave the ice to get it fixed, causing a 10min delay in game time. However the damage couldn’t be undone and they were not able to come back, losing 8-1. Office Scapes and AMOS had a close, tight battle. But AMOS managed to come out victorious with 2 goals in the 3rd.
